Łódź's 603rd birthday is fast approaching.
From July 24 to 26, 2026, residents and tourists will be able to participate
in more than 80 events covering sports, recreation, sightseeing, and family attractions.
The program included, among other things, night swimming, bike rides,
Guided walks, yoga classes, and tours of places normally off-limits to guests.

Łódź's 603rd Birthday, Full of Activities

This year’s city anniversary celebrations will be an opportunity to spend the weekend being active.
The organizers have prepared events at stadiums, swimming pools, parks,
museums, former industrial sites, and scientific institutions.

Participants will have the opportunity to see, among other things, the backstage areas of the ŁKS Municipal Stadium
and Widzew Stadium, visit laboratories in Łódź, learn about the history of old factories,
take a ride on a vintage tram, and participate in themed city walks.

Night swimming, Nordic walking, and a family picnic

One of the main attractions for active leisure enthusiasts will be
Night swimming at Aquapark Fala. On Saturday, July 25, starting at 10:00 p.m.
participants will be able to enjoy the pools and saunas late into the night.

You can start your Saturday morning on the Emerald Riviera in Arturówek.
At 10:00 a.m., the Birthday Nordic Walking March will begin
over a symbolic distance of 6.03 km. The organizers are encouraging participants
to wear clothing in the colors of Łódź.

Immediately following the march, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., there will be a family picnic
called “A Healthy Birthday, Because It’s All About Sports.” The program includes
an alpaca pen, water rescue demonstrations, large-format
board games, and attractions for the youngest children.

A bike game and a literary escape room

Those who enjoy puzzles can take part in a family bike game
“In Search of the Lost Message.” Participants will ride
between historic villas in Łódź and search for fragments of a mysterious letter.
The start is scheduled for Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at MSK Stary Widzew.

An alternative option is the Literary Escape Room at the House of Literature,
taking place on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. During the game, books,
quotes, and hidden clues will help participants solve the puzzles.

Yoga in the Park and a Bath in Sounds

On Sunday, July 26, at 10:00 a.m.,
a free birthday yoga session will take place at Źródliska I Park. Then, at 11:30 a.m., the Central Museum of
Textiles will invite participants to a ticketed session
“A Bath in Sounds.”

These are suggestions for people who want to combine celebrating the city’s birthday
with rest, exercise, and relaxation in a unique setting.

Tours of the ŁKS and Widzew Stadiums

On Friday, July 24, visitors will have the opportunity to tour Łódź’s two largest stadiums.
Guided tours of the ŁKS Municipal Stadium at 2 al. Unii Lubelskiej
and the Widzew Stadium at 138 al. Piłsudskiego
will begin at 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.

The program will include, among other things, access to the locker rooms, technical areas
and the backstage areas of the venues, which are off-limits to fans during games.

Tours of Łódź and places not normally accessible to the public

An important part of the celebrations will be walks, guided tours, and excursions showcasing
the many faces of Łódź. Participants will have the opportunity to visit, among other places, Bionanopark,
the Secesja Library, EC1, the Museum of the City of Łódź, the Museum of Cinematography,
the Central Museum of Textiles, and historic industrial sites.

At Bionanopark, visitors will be able to see state-of-the-art laboratories and the 52-metric-ton
ARUZ supercomputer. The Secesja Library, meanwhile, will welcome visitors to the nearly
140-year-old annex at 76 Zachodnia Street, which has regained its historic appearance
thanks to a recent revitalization project.

The Central Museum of Textiles
in Łódź, located in the historic White Factory, has prepared a rich program for the entire weekend.

However, some attractions have a limited number of spots and require advance registration
or the purchase of a ticket for a symbolic price of 603 groszy.

This applies, among other things, to stadium tours, the bike game, the escape room,
selected guided tours, and museum workshops. Before participating, it’s a good idea to check
for the specific registration rules for a particular event.

To celebrate the city’s anniversary, rides on Łódź’s public transportation will be free.
This will make it easier to get between events taking place in different parts of Łódź.
