October 9, 2025 – A very good year for tourism in Łódź, with over 5 million visitors!

This will be a record-breaking year for Łódź. According to data from the Łódź Tourist Organization and Selectivv, over 5 million people will visit the city by the end of 2025—the highest number in history. This confirms that Łódź has become one of the most visited cities in Poland and is rapidly developing as a destination for city tourism.

“Five million visitors in a single year symbolize Łódź’s transformation,” says Hanna Zdanowska, Mayor of Łódź. “ Just a decade ago, this would have been hard to imagine. Today, we are a city that attracts visitors with festivals, concerts, family attractions, and our urban energy.” The direction we’ve taken has proven to be the right one—investments in culture, tourist attractions, urban space, and the city’s image really do work. Łódź is no longer a “city on the way.” It’s a city people come to—and stay in for the long haul.

Tourism on the Rise – Numbers and Interest Are Growing

Since the beginning of the year , tourist traffic in Łódź has increased among both day visitors (+10%) and overnight guests (+12%). The largest increase was recorded among visitors from neighboring provinces—Kujawsko-Pomorskie (+45.23%), Śląskie (+38.66%), and Mazowieckie (+17.35%).

This increase in interest is also evident among foreign visitors. Most tourists come to Łódź from Germany, but significant increases were also recorded among visitors from Spain (+19.39%), Italy (+17.37%), and the Benelux countries (+22.2%).

Hotels in Łódź are full of guests

According to data from CoStar, a company that monitors the hotel market, the average occupancy rate for hotels in Łódź from January 1 to October 4, 2025, was 65%, compared to 61.5% during the same period in 2024. During the period analyzed, occupancy exceeded 80% on as many as 61 days and 90% on 22 days. Such a high occupancy rate demonstrates that the city effectively combines its offerings in events, culture, and business with the development of its hotel infrastructure.

“CoStar data confirms that Łódź is no longer just a ‘one-day’ destination. Visitors come here today for festivals, concerts, or other events, but more and more often they stay longer to get to know our city better. This is a real change that is reflected in the hotel industry’s results, emphasizes Tomasz Koralewski, president of the Łódź Tourist Organization.

A City of Events – From Festivals to Family Attractions

It is not only Łódź’s hotels that are having a record year, but also the city’s biggest attractions. The summer vacation season just ended was the best in the history of Aquapark Fala and the Łódź Zoo’s Orientarium. In August alone , over 200,000 people visited the Łódź Zoo, and over half a million visited the water park throughout the entire summer season. Atlas Arena is also enjoying high attendance, and up to a million people may visit it by the end of the year. Importantly, the companies are not stopping there and are planning further investments to attract even more visitors.

Fala is planning another expansion of its sauna area—it will feature new outdoor pools with cold and hot water, as well as a renovated recreational space with gazebos, showers, and greenery. The Orientarium at the Łódź Zoo is preparing two major projects— the Pavilion of the Elements andthe Savannah—which will introduce new animal species and educational spaces to the complex. Meanwhile, Atlas Arena is continuing its modernization—following the replacement of the mobile stands, the venue will feature, among other things, a modern LED Cube screen and the Sky Bar, an exclusive viewing area with dining options.

In 2025, Łódź once again reaffirmed its status as a city of major events. The Łódź Summer Festival 2025 attracted half a million attendees to Łódź Błonia over three days, with stars including Louis Tomlinson, Shaggy, and London Grammar. The festival was one of the largest free music events in the country, reinforcing Łódź’s image as an open and vibrant city.

– A consistent approach to managing the tourism sector, investments in new tourism products, and effective marketing communication are paying off. This success is the result of cooperation among all partners—from local government, through the hotel and restaurant industries, to travel agencies and universities. Thanks to this cooperation, Łódź will exceed the 5-million-visitor mark for the first time in history, adds Tomasz Koralewski.

The year 2025 will go down in history as a turning point—a time when Łódź not only set a record for the number of visitors but also firmly established itself in the minds of Poles as a city brimming with energy, culture, and vitality.
