On October 1, we will celebrate Polish Music Day for the eighth time. Nearly 100 radio stations and music television channels, streaming services, music stores, ticket outlets, and partners from various cultural sectors will join forces to promote Polish music and the people who create it. The program will include, among other things, special broadcasts and playlists, promotions on albums, books, and concert tickets, dance and film screenings, exhibitions, and a two-day industry conference.
A celebration of music, artists, and listeners
Polish Music Day is a public awareness campaign that encourages people to listen to Polish music more often and highlights its importance to Polish culture, the economy, and the daily lives of each and every one of us. Together with the media and our campaign partners, we’d like to remind everyone that choosing a Polish song, buying an album, or purchasing a concert ticket also supports the people who create our culture.
It’s a day when we thank artists and creators for their work and for the music that accompanies us—and the listeners, thanks to whom it can reach ever wider audiences – says Anna Ceynowa, campaign organizer, President of the EMPOWER POLAND Foundation, Chair of the Polish Music Market Council, and Director of Communications at ZPAV.
This year, there are especially many reasons to be grateful. ZPAV data for the first half of 2026 show growing interest in music, both via streaming and on physical media. Poland ranks at its highest-ever position, 16th place in the ranking of the world’s largest music markets, and the IFPI report “Music in the EU” indicates that the Polish music market grew three times faster last year than the market for the entire European Union.
Polish music takes over the airwaves
At the heart of the campaign are radio stations and music television channels. Throughout the day, listeners will be able to hear significantly more Polish music than usual on these stations, and select stations—including Jedynka, Czwórka, and, as is tradition, ESKA2—will feature Polish music all day long! There will also be programs featuring special guests, stories about Polish songs, and interesting facts about the domestic music market.
The highlight will be the traditional, joint hour featuring exclusively Polish music: from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on nearly 100 radio stations supporting the campaign.
Every year, both the largest national stations and regional and local broadcasters join the campaign. Among the stations actively participating in the campaign from the very beginning are, among others: RMF FM, RMF MAXX, RMF Classic, RADIO ZET, ANTYRADIO, MELORADIO, Chillizet, RADIO ZŁOTE PRZEBOJE, RADIO POGODA, RADIO ESKA, ESKA ROCK, RADIO VOX, RADIO KOLOR, Polish Radio stations including JEDYNKA and TRÓJKA, many regional stations such as Radio Łódź, Radio Dla Ciebie, Radio Gdańsk, Radio Zachód, Radio Lublin, and Radio Białystok, as well as local stations like Radio Zielona Góra, Radio Gorzów, Radio Świnoujście, FAMA, Nasze Radio and Nasze Radio Nostalgicznie, Radio Tczew, Wasze Radio, Radio Sochaczew, Radio Victoria, Radio Nakło, Radio Leliwa, Super FM, Radio Express, Radio Bielsko, Radio Andrychów, Radio Weekend, Muzyczne Radio, Żnin, Bogoria, Mega, Nuta, Disco, Radio Kujawy, “Włocławek po polsku,” as well as online stations such as 357 and Radio Nowy Świat, and student stations such as Radio MORS and UWM, as well as Radio Janosik for drivers and music television channels including ESKA TV, ESKA TV EXTRA, ESKA ROCK TV, POLSAT MUSIC, VOX TV, 4FUN TV, 4FUN DANCE, MIXTAPE TV, V90, and STARS TV.
Albums and concerts — more opportunities to experience Polish music
Polish Music Day is also a celebration for fans. Music stores participating in the campaign and ticket outlets are once again preparing special offers, discounts, and promotions on CDs, vinyl records, and tickets to concerts by Polish artists, as well as contests where you can win them.
A 40% discount on Polish CDs and vinyl records is available at all Empik brick-and-mortar stores and on the empik.com platform; this promotion will be valid through October 28, 2026.
Independent stores are also joining the campaign, including Sklep z Muzyką, where you can find nearly all Polish music and book releases, as well as merchandise at a 40% discount.
Polish Music Day is also a celebration for fans, for whom the ticket vendors participating in the campaign have once again prepared a host of attractions, discounts, and promotions! Biletomat.pl has joined the campaign and prepared a special promotion for concertgoers to mark Polish Music Day.
Poland’s largest streaming services have supported the Polish Music Day campaign from the very beginning! On October 1, under the banner of Polish Music Day, you’ll once again be able to find playlists featuring Polish music, presented in the campaign’s unique graphic design.
Music brings together various cultural sectors: film, video games, books, visual arts, and dance
Music helps shape cinematic narratives and the worlds of video games, inspires authors, intersects with the visual arts, and sets the rhythm for dance. That is why Polish Music Day once again extends beyond the music industry itself, inviting other cultural sectors
and creative industries to join in.
This year’s events will include playlists featuring music from video games, discounts on admission to selected music museums in Poland, special offers on music-themed books, screenings of films about music, and dance performances set to Polish songs in public spaces. We’ll announce all the details about the events and promotions on the website dzienpolskiejmuzyki.pl and on the campaign’s social media channels
and our partners’ social media channels.
The celebration of Polish Music Day will begin with a dance performance specially prepared for the occasion, featuring dancers from Marcin Hakiel’s dance studio, who will perform to Polish music in the urban space of downtown Warsaw.
Museums are also celebrating Polish Music Day! This year, the Museum of Polish History is joining the celebration! To mark the occasion, on October 1, admission to the exhibition “What’s the Line For? The Polish People’s Republic
Through the Lens of Music” will be free on October 1! You can also win 10 tickets to the exhibition in the campaign’s social media contest, which can be used through December 6.
In addition, as has become tradition ,we are celebrating Polish Music Day together with the Museum of Rock History in Jarocin—the Granary of Polish Rock—where admission will also be free on October 1; the Museum of the Polish Song in Opole will also offer a promotional rate on that day.
Let's play some games! To celebrate Polish Music Day, streaming services will feature special playlists with the most interesting Polish music for video games.
The enduring message of Polish Music Day remains collaboration: “Music brings EVERYONE together”. In this year’s edition, we are paying special attention to the people working behind the scenes at musical events and to the importance of mental health.
Behind every concert are people
On stage, we see the artist. Behind the success of his concert, tour, or festival performance, however, are dozens—and sometimes hundreds—of people. Together with the Chamber of Commerce of Polish Artist Managers (IGMAP) , we want to highlight their work and show just how many people contribute to the events that provide the audience with unforgettable experiences.
Polish Music Day is an opportunity to thank not only the artists, creators, and everyone involved in organizing the concerts, but also the audience, who, by buying tickets, support Polish culture and the people who create it. IGMAP, together with event organizers, will also highlight this during the fall concerts.
Support for those who help others every day
October is Mental Health Awareness Month. That is why, in this year’s edition of the campaign, together with the Polish Music Foundation, we are joining forces with the “Therapy Is Nothing to Be Ashamed Of” Foundation, which is organizing a fundraiser to provide therapy to those in need—including artists and people in the music industry.
Throughout the year, artists get involved in social and charitable initiatives, helping to raise awareness of important issues and support others. Polish Music Day is a good opportunity to also draw attention to their needs. We want to highlight both the support that music can provide in coping with health challenges, including mental health issues, as well as
the importance of caring for the mental health of the artists themselves and those working
in the music industry.
Polish Music Day Conference 2026 – October 1–2
The celebration will also have an industry-specific component. On October 1 and 2, at the Labo Hall of the Center for the Development of Creative Industries at 34 Chodakowska Street in Warsaw, a conference for artists and representatives of the music industry will take place.
The program will include panel discussions, conversations with artists, hands-on workshops, and expert consultations. It will be complemented by radio zones featuring the largest radio stations.
The conference panels will feature outstanding Polish artists, including Kasia Kowalska, Anita Lipnicka, Reni Jusis, the band Myslovitz, Krzysztof Skiba, Ewelina Flinta, Misia Furtak, Alicja, Tomek Makowiecki, Daria ze Śląska, and Tomek Szczepanik from the band Pectus and many others. The event will also feature special guests.
The culmination of the Polish Music Day celebrations and the entire conference will be the award ceremony for “Gloria Artis—Meritorious for Culture” medals, awarded by the Minister of Culture
and National Heritage to outstanding Polish artists.
In addition, the following will be presented: a “City of Music” Certificate to a city that supports the development of its local music scene.
