Łódź has once again become the capital of Polish handball! On Saturday, August 30, 2025, Atlas Arena hosted the second edition of the Polish Handball Super Cup for both men and women. Thousands of fans from across the country created an incredible atmosphere as they cheered on the four best teams in Poland.
Women's Final: Zagłębie Lubin Takes the Title!
In the first match of the day, the Polish champions and winners of the ORLEN Polish Cup— KGHM MKS Zagłębie Lubin —confirmed their dominance in women’s handball. The team from Lubin defeated the decorated PGE MKS El-Volt Lublin 30–24 and once again claimed the prestigious trophy. Exciting plays, fast breaks, and a strong defense ensured that fans were treated to a top-tier spectacle.
Men's Final: A Thriller at Atlas Arena!
The evening showdown between the giants— ORLEN Wisła Płock vs. Industria Kielce —has gone down in Super Cup history. The game ended in a 26-26 tie after regulation time, and everything came down to a penalty shootout. The Kielce team proved more effective in the shootout, winning 6-5 and lifting the trophy to the delight of their fans. This match proved that the rivalry between Wisła and Industria is one of the greatest sporting spectacles in Poland—full of passion, drama, and a fight to the very last second.
Anilana Cup ’25 Super Cup Ceremony
Between matches—around 4:30 p.m.—a closing ceremony was held for the Anilana Cup ’25 Super Cup. The top teams in the youth tournament were recognized for their achievements, and standout players received individual awards in three categories: Tournament MVP, Top Scorer, and Best Goalkeeper.
The Anilana Cup Super Cup, organized by UKS Anilana Łódź, Superliga sp. z o.o., the Polish Handball Association, and with the support of the City of Łódź, the Marshal’s Office of the Łódź Province, and the Łódź Handball Association, is an event that brings together the entire handball community and promotes the sport among children and young people.
Fan Zone – Super Cup: A Park Full of Attractions
As usual, the Superpuchar Park Fan Zone drew huge crowds and was bustling with activity from early morning. Families and handball fans could try their hand at the courts, participate in contests, meet handball legends, and enjoy the entertainment zones. The youngest participants competed in a 1-on-1 tournament, and each participant received a T-shirt, a medal, and a ticket to the Super Cup.
A Sports Festival at Atlas Arena
The second edition of the Super Cup confirmed that Łódź and Atlas Arena are the perfect venue for hosting Poland’s biggest handball events. Following last year’s record attendance, the stands were once again packed to capacity this year, and the fans created an unforgettable atmosphere.
