From April 10–12, Łódź will once again host one of Poland’s most important running events—the DOZ Łódź Marathon. The highlight of the event will take place on Sunday, April 12, when thousands of runners from Poland and abroad will take to the city streets, and the best Polish long-distance runners will compete for medals at the Polish Marathon Championships.
The event program includes not only the marathon but also a 10-kilometer run, relay races, and competitions for children and teenagers. Numerous side events will take place simultaneously, including an expo, a family picnic at Atlas Arena, and health-promoting initiatives such as the Senior Zone, which offers free health screenings and consultations.
The event will result in temporary changes to traffic patterns and public transportation services. Detailed information about traffic disruptions and detours is available through the city’s official channels and on social media.
– The DOZ Łódź Marathon is not only a thrilling sporting event but also a celebration for the entire city. We are delighted to once again welcome top athletes and thousands of runners from around the world. I encourage all Łódź residents to come out and cheer, but also to familiarize themselves in advance with the changes to traffic and public transportation. This will ensure that this special weekend goes smoothly for all of us,” emphasizes Hanna Zdanowska.
“A marathon is a distance that always brings with it a lot of excitement, and it’s hard to pick clear favorites. In Łódź, we’ll see the top Polish runners competing for championship titles. We’re counting on fantastic support from the locals and a world-class sporting atmosphere,” says Jacek Chmiel, the race director.
