Gortat Team vs. the Polish Army
After a two-year hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the match between Gortat Team and the Polish Army—eagerly awaited by many basketball fans—is returning to the court at Łódź’s Atlas Arena. This annual event, which usually closed out the Marcin Gortat Camp, will have added significance this year due to the war in our eastern neighbor’s country. We all see clearly what is happening to our Ukrainian brothers and sisters, which is why the management of Marcin Gortat’s MG13 Foundation has decided that this year’s ticket proceeds will be donated in full to aid Ukraine. In short, this year we’re “Playing for Ukraine”—even more so than ever before—and we’re counting on the big, open hearts of our fans from all over Poland, who we hope will turn out in droves for this event.
As organizers, we can assure you, as always, that there will be plenty to see and cheer for, because this year’s lineup of the Gortat Team features, as usual, top-tier actors, musicians, athletes, and show business personalities. To give you a taste of what’s in store this year, we can reveal that facing off against the Polish Army will be two titans of stand-up comedy: Rafal Paczes and Lukasz “Lotek” Lodkowski! Both will be supported—both on the court and in spirit—by one of Poland’s top fitness trainers, Ewa Chodakowska!
