Due to the Women’s Volleyball World Championship, in consultation with the management of Atlas Arena, we are forced to reschedule the Film Music Concert dedicated to the work of Hans Zimmer, which was originally scheduled for October 8, 2022, to a new date: March 19, 2023. The venue and time of the concert remain unchanged. We appreciate your understanding and ask that you keep your tickets for the rescheduled concert.

At Atlas Arena in Łódź The Polish Radio Orchestra and the Warsaw University of Technology Academic Choir, conducted by Maciej Sztor, will perform a Film Music Concert dedicated to the work of Hans Zimmer. Anna Lasota will sing the solo parts, and Magda Miska-Jackowska will provide narration. The performance will be enhanced by film clips shown on the big screen.

The concert will feature original orchestral suites from such blockbuster films as *Gladiator*, *Inception*, *Interstellar*, *Batman*, and *Pirates of the Caribbean*. Original pieces from the films “Rush,” “King Arthur,” “Dunkirk,” and “The Little Prince” will also be performed. A specially curated repertoire will allow audiences to appreciate the stylistic richness and talent of Hans Zimmer—one of the most outstanding contemporary film music composers. Although Hans Zimmer will not appear in person at the concerts, his compositions and interesting facts from his biography will be presented.

Hans Zimmer has composed soundtracks for over 150 films. He composes for all film genres, ranging from animation and romantic comedies to action films, thrillers, and historical epics. In addition to prestigious awards such as the Oscar, Golden Globe, and Grammy, he has also received awards for his lifetime achievements: the Lifetime Achievement Award, the Frederick Loewe Award, and the Henry Mancini Award for Lifetime Achievement. His signature style is a distinctive blend of symphonic music, contemporary instruments, and electronics.

The turning point in Zimmer’s career as a composer was the phenomenal score for the iconic Disney animated film *The Lion King*. “It’s the gem of this concert, and Zimmer rightly won an Oscar for the music. It’s also a piece in which the orchestra has the opportunity to showcase its full range of sound. This music is incredibly poetic and sincere,” notes conductor Maciej Szor.
