On the penultimate weekend of January, teams from the 2010, 2011, and 2012 age groups will compete for the MAKiS President’s Cup at Atlas Arena. The participants were selected through qualifying tournaments, with the prizes being cups funded by the mayors of four cities: Łódź, Sieradz, Skierniewice, and Piotrków Trybunalski.
The finalists of each qualifying round have secured their spots in the provincial phase of the competition, where the main trophy was sponsored by the director of the Municipal Arena of Culture and Sport in Łódź. This is a company that manages modern facilities built by the Łódź local government. These include three stadiums (two soccer stadiums and one speedway stadium) and two sports arenas (Atlas Arena and the Józef “Ziuna” Zylinski Arena).
Eight teams will compete in each age group. The tournament will begin with a group stage to determine the semifinalists. The tournaments for the 2010 and 2011 age groups are scheduled for Saturday, January 22, and the matches for the 2012 age group will be played the following day.
2010 Season: LKS, Stal Niewiadów, Pogon Zdunska Wola, Unia Skierniewice (Group A), Łódź Football Academy, Concordia Piotrków Trybunalski, AS Sieradz, and MUKS Pelikan Łowicz (Group B).
2011 age group: LKS, AS Bedków, Pogon Zdunska Wola, AP Pelikan Łowicz (Group A), Łódź Football Academy, Swit Kamiensk, Akademia Progres, and Mazovia Rawa Mazowiecka (Group B).
2012 Season: LKS, APN Piotrków Trybunalski, MKS Zdunska Wola, AP Pelikan Lowicz (Group A), Mlody Widzew, Stal Niewiadów, KS Warta Sieradz, and Widok Skierniewice (Group B).
