After waiting at home for what feels like an eternity, you’ll want to get some fresh air, have some fun, and enjoy a delicious meal outdoors. The perfect opportunity to fulfill all these wishes is coming up on the first weekend of September in Łódź: it’s time for Wielka Szama!
Wielka Szama is the biggest food truck festival in Łódź! Every year, the event brings together the best mobile restaurants from all over Poland, and this year’s edition will be no exception. Throughout the weekend of September 5 and 6, 30 food trucks will be serving their signature dishes at the Atlas Arena grounds. It’s the largest food court of its kind in the province!
In one place and at one time, you’ll be able to sample the most exotic cuisines from the farthest corners of the world—the Far East, India, and Mexico—as well as equally tempting European dishes. Fans of classic street food will also find what they love most: a hearty burger, thick-cut fries, and other tried-and-true dishes.
With each new edition, Wielka Szama features more and more events to go along with the “szamaning” itself. This year, there’s plenty of fun in store for both kids and adults. The kids will be able to let loose on fairy-tale-themed inflatables and learn how to blow giant soap bubbles. It’s going to be a blast!
Anyone who wants to can take part in the attempt to break the record for eating a burger against the clock.
During Wielka Szama, we place a strong emphasis on sustainability. Don’t be surprised if some of the food trucks at the event serve your food in eco-friendly packaging instead of plastic.
The organizers will ensure the safety of guests. Exhibitors are required to follow the guidelines for food service. The dining area will be disinfected regularly, and appropriate distances will be maintained between tables and individual food trucks. Hand sanitizer will be made available to guests.
