The first Grand Prix competition of the Perlage CAVALIADA Tour in Łódź was won by Kristaps Neretnieks of Latvia. Stage 5 of the CAVALIADA Eventing Tour ended with a victory for Mathies Rüder of Germany, while Justina Vanagaite-Samuile of Lithuania triumphed in the Apart Dressage Tour competition.
Fifty-three pairs competed in the Grand Prix, contested for the Łódź Province Marshal’s Prize and organized under the patronage of Tarant Events. Nine of them cleared the 140-cm course without faults, with the Latvian two-time Olympian Kristaps Neretnieks on the 16-year-old gelding Quintair emerging as the winner. Right behind him was Germany’s Mathies Rüder on the mare Flora V, and third place went to his compatriot Marvin Jüngel on the horse Don Corleone Z. The top Polish rider—Mściwoj Kiecoń on the mare Eyda L—finished in eighth place.
“Quintair jumped really well today—maybe it’s thanks to his earlier winter break. I just showed him the obstacles, and he handled them brilliantly. The Perlage CAVALIADA Tour is the best competition in Central Europe,” said the winner.
The highlight of the evening at Atlas Arena was the CAVALIADA Eventing Tour competition, with a prize from the Polish Equestrian Federation. To the fans’ great surprise, the leader and reigning Olympic champion—Germany’s Michael Jung—messed up the course order on the first turn and was unable to compete in the decisive round, to which 6 of the 12 competing pairs advanced. In the final round, Mathies Rüder—a rider in top form who won individual gold at the 2022 European Junior Championships—galloped to victory. Today, he rode the horse Poynstown Porsch.
“My horse was really great today; he was really in the zone with me this time. The turns in the second round were really tight—it wasn’t easy, but he made it look very easy. Tomorrow I’d like to go head-to-head with Michael Jung!” said Rüder.
The next places were taken by Polish riders—Julia Gillmaier on the mare Cayada M and Joanna Pawlak on the horse Armin de Monsieur.
The dressage competitors took to the arena today for the fifth stage of the Apart Dressage Tour—a competition for the In_Spire Foundation Prize. The highest scores went to Paris Olympian and leader of the standings, Justina Vanagaite-Samuile of Lithuania, riding Fedon. Second place went to Ilona Janas on the gelding Heracles, and third place went to Germany’s Lena Hassmann on Grey Rose.
The morning Medium Round competition, which opened the third stage of the Perlage CAVALIADA Tour and featured the MTP Group Prize, attracted 66 pairs at the start. Among the 17 clear rounds, the fastest was ridden by Jarosław Skrzyczyński on the 11-year-old gelding Komboy. Germany’s Mathies Rüder finished second on the mare Carlesta, and Pim Mulder from the Netherlands rounded out the top three on the horse Jagger SRK.
In the Golden Respect Energy Open Tour category (at the 130 cm level), Milena Sołtysiak on Checkalito S won the Nowy Adres prize. Second place went to Aleksandra Lewicka on Narthago VDL, and third place to Lena Molenda on Ridor.
Dominika Jankowska, riding Quick Magic de Barcenal Z, won the Silver Respect Energy Open Tour (120 cm) competition for the ToBilet.pl prize. Julia Tybulczuk came in second on the mare Jasmin Lazar, and Hubert Prasek took third place on Bueno L.
The Respect Energy Open Tour competition in the Bronze category (110 cm), for the Idea Expo prize, concluded with a victory for Jan Mordzelewski riding Have Fun. Anna Błażewicz on Giro d’Italia Red Wine took second place, and Maja Głoskowska on the gelding Atos came in third.
