From January 29 to February 1, Łódź will become one of the most important destinations on the European equestrian circuit for the first time. The Perlage CAVALIADA Tour—a prestigious international equestrian competition series—will come to Atlas Arena, making its debut in Łódź after stops in Warsaw and Poznań. For four days, the city will be alive with sports, excitement, and a spectacle that goes far beyond a traditional competition.
The press conference dedicated to the Perlage CAVALIADA Tour, held on January 28 at 11:00 a.m. at Atlas Arena, provided an opportunity to present details of the first-ever edition of this prestigious international equestrian event in Łódź. The meeting was attended by: Joanna Skrzydlewska – Marshal of the Łódź Province, Adam Wieczorek – Deputy Mayor of Łódź, as well as representatives of the organizer – Dorota Weka, Creative Director of the Perlage brand, Jakub Patelka, Director of the Perlage CAVALIADA Tour, and Szymon Tarant, Sports Director of the series.
A sport that’s impressive—even if you’ve never ridden a horse before
Over the course of four days of competition, 18 international show jumping competitions will be held, with heights ranging from 110 to 150 cm. Three of these count toward the FEI World Ranking, including the highlight of the program— the Perlage CAVALIADA Tour Grand Prix Łódź. The total prize pool is 150,000 euros.
The show jumping courses will feature true stars of the global equestrian scene, including Gerco Schröder, the silver medalist at the London Olympics; Michael Jung, the reigning Olympic champion in Eventing; and Kristaps Neretnieks, the winner of the 2023/24 CAVALIADA Tour. Poland’s top riders will be represented by, among others, Maksymilian Wechta, the series leader, Jarosław Skrzyczyński, and Mściwoj Kiecoń.
Importantly, CAVALIADA is an event that appeals even to those who don’t usually follow equestrian sports. The dynamic Speed & Music, the spectacular Jumping Competition, carriage races as part of the CAVALIADA Driving Tour, and freestyle dressage set to music create an atmosphere in the stands comparable to that of the biggest sporting and concert events.
Horses like sports stars, the arena like a concert stage
CAVALIADA is also an opportunity to get an up-close look at a world that few people have access to on a daily basis. Horses competing in events of this caliber are animals worth hundreds of thousands, or even millions, of euros, under the constant care of veterinarians and physical therapists, and trained like top-class athletes. The arena surface is covered with specialized quartz sand, prepared with great precision to ensure the animals’ safety and comfort.
An event for the whole family
In addition to the sporting competition, the organizers have prepared a "Meet the Stars" zone, an EXPO fair featuring equestrian accessories, and numerous attractions for children. The Sport Arena will feature a free Hobby Horse zone, where the youngest visitors can try their hand at mini-show jumping courses and spend their time actively. This offering makes CAVALIADA a family event—even for those who have never had any prior experience with equestrian sports.
