On September 11, the parking lot in front of Moto Arena will once again turn into a drive-in theater. This time, the big screen will feature the cult classic “Dzień świra,” directed by Marek Koterski. The screening will begin at 8:00 p.m., and admission is free.
Fall is fast approaching, but it’s not too late for outdoor movie nights in Łódź. On Friday, September 11, TME Polówka invites viewers to one of the most iconic Polish films of recent decades— “Dzień świra,” directed by Marek Koterski. The screening will take place in the parking lot in front of Moto Arena on 6 Sierpnia Street.
This 2002 film is now a cult classic about Adas Miauczyński, a 49-year-old divorced Polish literature professor who struggles with everyday life, his own habits, and his obsessions. In his signature style, Koterski blends dark humor, absurdity, and keen observations of everyday life. Over the years, “Dzień świra” has earned the status of one of the most important Polish films of the turn of the century.
Drive-in movie theater in the heart of Łódź
Moto Polówka is a unique opportunity to watch a movie from the perspective of your own car. Viewers take their seats in the parking lot in front of Moto Arena, and the movie’s audio is broadcast to their car radios. So all you have to do is park, tune your radio to the specified frequency, and… the show can begin.
On September 11, entry to the Moto Polówka grounds will begin at 7:00 p.m., and the film will start at 8:00 p.m. Admission to the event is free.
This will be the second-to-last screening at Moto Arena this year. On September 17, the comedy *It’s Easy to Lie in Good Company*, directed by Paolo Genovese, will be shown in the parking lot in front of the speedway stadium.
What is Moto Polówka?
Moto Polówka is a section of the TME “Polówka” Summer Film Festival, which this summer once again transformed spaces throughout Łódź into open-air movie theaters. This year’s edition of the festival features over 160 free screenings at 20 locations.
