January 26, 2026 - Orlen Cup Łódź 2026: World-Class Results and Polish Victories at Atlas Arena

The ORLEN Cup meet at Łódź’s Atlas Arena featured spectacular competition and a string of world-class performances. The event brought together top athletes from Europe and around the world, many of whom demonstrated their excellent form right at the start of the indoor season.

The men’s pole vault competition generated the most excitement. The winner was Greece’s Emmanouil Karalis, one of the most successful pole vaulters of the younger generation in Europe. With a jump of 5.93 meters, he took the lead in the world season rankings, recording the best result in the world. Piotr Lisek finished the competition with a jump of 5.40 meters.

Pia Skrzyszowska, the reigning European champion in the 100-meter hurdles, won the women’s 60-meter dash. The Polish athlete, competing this time on a flat track, triumphed with a time of 7.18 seconds, demonstrating her versatility as a sprinter. Jakub Szymański, the current Polish record holder and leader of the world season rankings, won the men’s 60-meter hurdles. His victory with a time of 7.51 was further confirmation of his position among the world’s elite in this event.

In the women’s 60-meter hurdles, Slovenia’s Nika Glojnarić triumphed with a time of 8.03 seconds. Alicja Sielska took second place, placing her among the top European performers of the season.

One of the standout Polish performances of the evening was the men’s 60-meter dash final. Oliwer Wdowik won with a time of 6.59 seconds, setting a personal best, meeting the qualifying standard for the World Championships, and moving up to eighth place in the all-time Polish sprint rankings. This is one of the best indoor performances by a Polish athlete in recent years.

Angelina Topić proved unbeatable in the women’s high jump competition. The young Serbian, considered one of the greatest hopes in world high jump, won with a jump of 1.98 m. This result set a Serbian record and was the second-best performance of the season worldwide. Third place went to Maria Żodzik, a world championship medalist, who cleared 1.87 m.

Chukwuebuka Enekwechi, a multiple African champion and regular participant in world championships, won the men’s shot put with a throw of 20.82 meters. Szymon Mazur was the top Polish performer with a throw of 19.69 meters. Zuzanna Maślana won the women’s competition.

Magdalena Andruszkiewicz won the Frame Running race, confirming her dominance in this event on the national stage.

Patrycja Florczak and Aleksander Frydrysiak triumphed in the 60-meter races for juniors, winning the trophies awarded by the Marshal of the Łódź Province.

A major highlight of the ORLEN Cup Łódź 2026 was the atmosphere created by the fans, who packed the stands at Atlas Arena and provided a unique backdrop for the sporting competition from the opening events through to the final rounds. The athletes repeatedly emphasized that competing in Łódź holds special significance for them—it is a place they eagerly return to because of the close connection with the audience, the energy of the arena, and the excitement that comes with competing in front of Polish fans. Atlas Arena once again proved itself to be a venue conducive to achieving world-class results.
