Tomorrow, Łódź will become the center of the global athletics world. On Sunday at 5:00 p.m., the gates will open and the prestigious Orlen Cup Łódź 2026 meet will begin at Atlas Arena.
The sporting excitement began today—the meet’s stars met with the media at a press conference. Among them was Emanouil Karalis, one of the world’s top pole vaulters and a European Championship medalist, known for his spectacular style and consistent form. Poland was represented by Jakub Szymański, the European indoor champion and a specialist in the 60-meter hurdles, one of the leaders of the young generation of sprinters. Hubert Trościanka also arrived in Łódź—a promising decathlete whose signing with the Orlen Sports Group was announced the day before the competition.
The conference’s star lineup also included Poland’s top female hurdlers. Pia Skrzyszowska, a World and European medalist in the 60-meter hurdles, has been among the world’s elite for years and guarantees a high level of competition. Also in attendance was Alicja Sielska —one of the most talented young athletes in this event, who is rapidly advancing her career and making an increasingly bold mark on the international stage.
Also present at the conference was Sebastian Chmara, a former decathlete, world championship medalist, and current president of the Polish Athletics Association, who highlighted the growing prestige of the Łódź meeting.
This year’s edition of the Orlen Cup will also go down in history thanks to the event’s unique, inclusive nature. For the first time, immediately following the opening ceremony, a frame running race—a competition for athletes with disabilities—will take place on the track at Atlas Arena, symbolically kicking off the sporting festival.
Łódź is ready for some big excitement. The 2026 Orlen Cup promises to be an evening full of records, stars, and top-level competition!
