The final weekend of summer vacation promises to be full of exciting sports action in Łódź. The date for the next edition of the Polish Super Cup in women’s and men’s handball has been announced. The event will take place in August 2025 at Łódź’s Atlas Arena. Tickets will go on sale as early as November.
The Polish Handball Super Cup is a unique trophy contested by both women’s and men’s teams. The Polish Champion and the winner of the ORLEN Polish Cup qualify for the match. If the same team wins both titles, the Polish Champion and the national runner-up will compete in the Polish Super Cup match.
2025 Polish Super Cup: August 30
The first edition of the Polish Super Cup was a success. Over 8,000 fans attended the event, setting a new attendance record in the history of club handball competitions in Poland. The organizers are hoping to break that record during the next edition of the event, which will take place on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Atlas Arena in Łódź. These matches will kick off the 2025/2026 season. The teams competing for the trophy were determined in April (the ORLEN Polish Men’s Cup final) and in May 2025 (the ORLEN Polish Women’s Cup final and the ORLEN Women’s and Men’s SuperLeague finals).
Two games – two blockbusters
- 2:30 p.m. – The reigning Polish champions and ORLEN Polish Cup winners, KGHM Zagłębie Lubin, will face the Polish runners-up, PGE MKS El-Volt Lublin, the most successful women’s handball club in Poland.
- 6:00 p.m. – The Polish champions and defending titleholders, ORLEN Wisła Płock, will face off against the record-holders for national titles, Industria Kielce, for the Men’s Super Cup trophy. This matchup has been thrilling the entire Polish sports world for years!
Fan Zone and a host of attractions
Just like the first edition, in addition to two top-level matches, the event will feature a range of additional attractions. These include multimedia presentations, opportunities to meet handball legends, and a special Super Cup Park Fan Zone with handball courts, a wide variety of food and drink options, and attractions for both children and adults. There will also be contests with prizes and charity events.

In the women’s competition, KGHM Zagłębie Lubin emerged victorious, defeating the Polish runners-up, KPR Gminy Kobierzyce, 23–21. This allowed the “Copper Girls” to celebrate winning every possible trophy on the domestic stage—the Polish Championship, the ORLEN Polish Cup, and the Super Cup.
