KSW returns to Łódź. The middleweight title bout is the main event of KSW 96

KSW will return to Łódź as early as July. In the main event of the gala KSW 96 there will be a big rematch and, at the same time, a middleweight title fight. In this bout Pawel Pawlak (23-4-1, 11 KOs, 3 submissions), the champion of this weight class, will face Damian Janikowski (10-5, 5 KOs, 1 submission), ranked number three. The fight card will also feature a local hero making his return to the octagon, Bartłomiej Kopera (13-7, 8 Sub), who will face off against the talented by Dawid Smielowski (10-1, 8 KOs, 2 submissions). In the main event of the Łódź show, she remains undefeated in KSW Maria Silva (10-1, 3 KOs, 4 submissions) will face off against a fighter who made a great debut in the octagon Ewelina Wozniak (8-2, 2 KOs, 4 submissions). This will be a rematch of their 2022 bout. KSW 96 will take place July 20 at Sport Arena.

Paweł Pawlak and Damian Janikowski faced off in the octagon in September 2021. They delivered a spectacular and thrilling bout that went the full distance and was named the Fight of the Night at KSW 63. Pawel Pawlak emerged victorious. Following that bout, the popular “Plastinho” defeated Cezariusz Kesik and crushed Tom Breese. These victories opened the door for him to fight for the belt. During the XTB KSW Colosseum 2 event, Pawlak defeated Tomasz Romanowski and became the middleweight champion. In his last bout, which took place in December 2023, Pawel made his first title defense and defeated Michal Materla. While Pawlak was climbing to the top of the middleweight division, Damian Janikowski defeated Tomasz Jakubiec and lost to Tom Breese. After that bout, however, he returned to the path of victory, which he has not strayed from to this day. The following fighters fell to the power of his skills: Mateusz Kubiszyn, Cezariusz Kesik, and Tomasz Romanowski. Now, the paths of Paweł Pawlak and Damian Janikowski will cross again, but this time the championship title will be on the line.

Bartłomiej Kopera is returning to the KSW organization, where he fought four bouts between 2018 and 2021. Unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned for the fighter from Łódź inside the octagon. However, Kopera bounced back from his losses and has been making a triumphant run through the MMA world since 2022. The popular “Malpa” is currently on a four-fight winning streak, which he secured while competing at Strife and Babilon MMA events. Kopera has twenty professional fights under his belt, thirteen of which he has won. He has finished his opponents eight times before the final bell. All of these victories came via submission.

For many years, Dawid Smielowski remained undefeated in his professional career, winning all his fights by knockout. “Królik,” who is known for his spectacular fighting style, had to concede defeat to Lom-Ali Eskieva in his last bout, however. Before that fight, Dawid was on an incredible streak of ten consecutive wins, five of which he secured in the first round. In his KSW debut, Dawid knocked out Filip Pejic, and in his second fight, he sent Patryk Kaczmarczyk to the canvas. Smielowski’s first bout was named the fight of the night, and in the second, Dawid earned a bonus for the best knockout.

Maria Silva is making a triumphant march through the world of MMA. She has fought eleven bouts so far, winning ten of them. She has defeated her opponents seven times before the final bell, four times by submission, and three times by knockout. She has won four of her fights in the first round. She has competed twice on the popular Dana White’s Contender Series, and in March of last year, she faced the then-undefeated Ewelina Wozniak and handed her the first loss of her career. Now, after two wins in the octagon, she will once again face the spectacularly fighting Polish fighter.

Ewelina Wozniak made a splash upon joining the KSW organization. In January of this year, she defeated Aleksandra Toncheva by submission and earned the bonus for the best finish of the night. The Polish fighter began her professional MMA career in 2018, and today she has ten professional bouts under her belt, eight of which she has won. She won the strawweight championship belt of the British Contenders organization and was a former title challenger in the flyweight division of the Ares organization. Ewelina has fought against fighters well-known from the KSW cage. She defeated Karoline Wójcik, Anita Bekus, and Magdalena Sormova. However, she had to concede defeat to Maria Silva, whom she will now attempt to avenge. The representative of the Czerwony Smok Poznan club has successfully competed not only in MMA, but also in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and kickboxing. Outside of Poland, she has competed in England, the Czech Republic, and France.
