Friday, October 16 — PGE National Badminton Day

Ten years ago, badminton took over the National Stadium. Now it's back—and bigger than ever!

For its 10th anniversary edition, Atlas Arena in Łódź will become the badminton capital of Poland. The main venue will feature 11 professional courts. A total of 400 girls and boys will compete.

Who is it for?

The competition is divided into three age categories:
7–9 years old (Group 1) and 10–13 years old (Group 2)—for children who play recreationally, at school, in PE classes, or in after-school programs. No experience is necessary. All you need is the desire to play.
Ages 14–17 (Group 3) – The highest level of the event! Tournaments in this category are primarily intended for more experienced players. Most participants here are club players, so if you want to test your skills at a higher level, this is the place for you. Just starting out? Don’t be discouraged! Although the level will be challenging, less experienced players are also welcome. It’s a great opportunity to compete against better players, observe their techniques, and gain valuable experience. If you like a challenge, grab your racket and join us!

How does it work?

The hall is divided into three zones:

· White – technique, tactics, rules of the game, and equipment

· Red – badminton activities and animations

· Gold – Tournaments

Each participant receives a scorecard. The better the task is completed, the more points it’s worth. There’s also space on the card for the school’s name, because in addition to the individual competition, we’re competing for the trophy for the best elementary and secondary school.

Awards Ceremony: 1:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. – Groups 1 and 2

At 1:00 p.m., the competition office closes the scorecards and tallies the results. Every participant receives a commemorative medal. Trophies and statuettes are awarded to the top finishers in each age category and to the winning elementary schools.

Tournaments in the Golden Zone! – Group 3 (ages 14–17)

From 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Golden Zone, we invite female and male players aged 14–17 to tournaments full of excitement, fast-paced rallies, and friendly competition. This is a great opportunity to test your skills, compete against peers from all over Poland, and experience the atmosphere of a real tournament.

Don't rush home! After the tournaments, there will be an awards ceremony honoring the top players in this group. Stay with us, cheer them on, celebrate their successes, and be part of this special day!

Award Ceremony – Group 3

There will be a second awards ceremony to honor female and male players aged 14–17. We invite all participants, coaches, and fans to join us in celebrating the successes of these young badminton players!

What else?

The center court will host workshops with members of the Polish national team and training sessions for young badminton players. There will be a quiz on the sport, exhibition matches, and an awards ceremony featuring special guests.

Each participant will receive a commemorative medal, a T-shirt, water, and fruit. The top finishers will receive trophies and statuettes.

Would you like to register a school or a group?

The competition office will be located in the hall, where participants can pick up their starter kits—which include commemorative T-shirts, various giveaways, and scorecards. We’ll explain how to join and how to sign up for a badminton club in your area.
