Sunday, January 26 – Xray Racing Series Poland

The Municipal Culture and Sports Arena and the Łódź Sports Modeling Foundation invite you to the next—and third—round of qualifiers for the Polish Championships in remote-controlled model racing.

Atlas Arena regulars already know well that although XRS Poland racers race small cars, this is not just fun, but a discipline requiring careful preparation, cold blood and skills that are difficult to acquire in a few days. After all, the victory is determined by the maneuverability, accuracy and precision of cornering vehicles, which on a straight stretch are able to reach speeds of up to 80 km/h!

On the weekend of January 25–26, the top “drivers” from Poland and abroad will compete on a specially prepared Dutch carpet track at Atlas Arena. The special guest of the event will be Jan Ratheisky, the current German champion, four-time European champion in the Formula and TC Stock classes, and World Cup winner in the Formula class.

With the event participants in mind, five tracks will be set up at Atlas Arena: two main tracks—for professionals (on-road and off-road)—where the third round of qualifiers for the Polish Remote-Controlled Model Racing Championships will take place, and three tracks for anyone who decides to come cheer on the racers at Atlas Arena.

On the first two "drivers" will compete in as many as nine categories, including two- and four-wheel drive vehicles. The number of laps covered in five minutes will determine whether they win. This does not mean, however, that only speed will count. Prepared by the Lodz Sports Modeling Foundation, the track will primarily verify the skills of the competing drivers.

Three other tracks will serve visitors to Atlas Arena to learn how to drive. Lodzers will learn the ins and outs of how to operate a model, a drift track to hone their skills, and a trial track that will verify the fitness of future racers.

Anyone wishing to get to know XRS Poland better is invited to attend the event on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Participation is free of charge. Entrance No. 1 from the lower level by the Ticket Center.
