Remote-controlled winter break at Atlas Arena
The Municipal Culture and Sports Arena and the Łódź Sports Modeling Foundation invite you to "Remote-Controlled Winter Break" at Atlas Arena.
Regulars at Atlas Arena are already familiar with the XRS Poland competition. During the event, remote-controlled models race on specially marked tracks set up inside Atlas Arena. This sport is a lot of fun, and now it will be available to the youngest residents of Łódź as well.
During the second week of winter break (January 20–24, 2020), tournament facilities will be set up on the floor of Atlas Arena, which will be open to anyone interested. Free classes for organized groups are scheduled Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The instructor will be Lukasz Predki from the “Sterownia” Remote-Controlled Model Club. During the two-hour sessions, participants will learn to drive professional remote-controlled car models (reaching speeds of up to 80 km/h), learn about their construction, and experience the incredible thrills of racing! The sessions will take place in two sessions from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Groups of up to 15 people may participate. Registrations are accepted via email at: kontakt@sterownialodz.pl. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
In the afternoons, the tracks at Atlas Arena will be taken over by professionals; you can watch them from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. This does not mean the track will be closed. Anyone with a model car is welcome to come to Atlas Arena and take advantage of the attractions prepared for professional drivers. The cost is 20 PLN per model. The events organized by the Municipal Culture and Sports Arena and the Łódź Sports Modeling Foundation will be joined on the weekend of January 25–26, 2020, by another—the third—round of qualifiers for the Polish Championships in remote-controlled model racing.
