Lodz, a city with a rich industrial and cultural history, will soon celebrate its 602nd birthday. To mark the occasion, the Municipal Arena of Culture and Sports has prepared a five-day series of events that will allow residents and tourists to experience the diversity and energy that our city exudes. From July 23 to 27, 2025, attractions are planned in front of the Atlas Arena and in its vicinity, whether for sports enthusiasts, families with children or fans of automobiles and good movies.
The FIVB Women's Volleyball Nations League Finals, which will feature the world 's best volleyball players, begin on Wednesday, July 23. For five days, the Atlas Arena will be an arena full of sports excitement, and fans will have the opportunity to enjoy the highest level of competition.
Friday, July 25, is the day when a unique movie screening will take place under Atlas Arena. The evening attraction will be Moto Polowka powered by Zimny Auto - a car cinema that will show the cult romantic comedy You've Got the Message just after sunset. Audiences will sit in cars to experience the magic of the film under the stars, without having to leave the comfort of their seats.
Saturday, July 26 is in turn a celebration of motorcyclists and families: the Moto Picnic at the Moto Arena from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. An exhibition of vintage and modern motorcycles awaits participants.
The celebration of Lodz's birthday will conclude on Sunday, July 27, with morning matches of young talents during the 2015 Yearbook Football Tournament at the Wladyslaw King Municipal Stadium, where teams of clubs such as Widzew, ŁKS and PSV will fight for victory in the spirit of fair play. On the same day, MAKiS is opening the doors of the ŁKS and Widzew stadiums to those who want to learn about the behind-the-scenes work of athletes: a free tour of the locker rooms, tunnel and turf is a unique opportunity to see what goes on behind the scenes of sports struggles (registration at lks_zwiedzanie@makis.pl and widzew_zwiedzanie@makis.pl).
