A host of soccer legends will take the field in Łódź! On August 29, 2026, a special Poland-France All-Star Game will be held at the Municipal Stadium at 138 Piłsudskiego Avenue. World and European champions, Champions League winners, former national team players from both countries, and well-known figures from the worlds of sports and culture will take the field. The event begins at 4:30 p.m.
The Big Names in French Soccer
The French team will be made up of players who have made their mark on the history of world soccer. In Łódź, we’ll see, among others, Christian Karembeu, the 1998 World Cup champion, the 2000 European champion, and a two-time Champions League winner with Real Madrid. The roster will also include Samuel Umtiti, the 2018 World Cup champion, and Jean-Pierre Papin, the 1991 Ballon d’Or winner.
Also taking the field will be Robert Pirès, a World Cup and European Championship winner and former Arsenal player; Alain Giresse, a 1984 European champion; and Sidney Govou, a seven-time French champion with Olympique Lyon and a 2006 World Cup runner-up.
The French team will include, among others, Benoît Trémoulinas, Guillaume Hoarau, Mamadou Niang, Michael Ciani, Daniel Van Buyten, Taye Taiwo, and Benoît Costil. Jessica Houara, a multiple French national team player and UEFA Champions League winner with Olympique Lyon, will also be on the roster.
Famous Names in Polish Soccer
We’ll see many familiar names from Polish soccer on the field. The Polish national team will be led by Czesław Michniewicz, the former head coach of the national team. The roster includes, among others, Grzegorz Krychowiak —who has made over 100 appearances for Poland and won the Europa League twice with Sevilla—and Łukasz Piszczek, a two-time German champion with Borussia Dortmund, three-time German Cup winner, and UEFA Champions League finalist.
The Polish team will also feature Mariusz Lewandowski, Marcin Wasilewski, Jacek Bąk, Jacek Krzynówek, Sławomir Peszko, Piotr Świerczewski, Tomasz Kłos, Jakub Wawrzyniak, Maciej Żurawski, and Dariusz Dziekanowski. Among the players representing Poland will also be Emilia Zdunek, a longtime member of the Polish women’s national soccer team.
Zbigniew Boniek, a Polish soccer legend, bronze medalist at the 1982 World Cup, and former president of the Polish Football Association (PZPN), will also be in Łódź. Marcin Oleksy, winner of the FIFA Ferenc Puskás Award for the most beautiful goal of 2022 in AMP Futbol, will also be in attendance.
It's Not Just About Basketball: Pop Culture Stars at the All-Star Game
The All-Star Game isn’t just about soccer. The event will also feature well-known figures from the worlds of music, entertainment, and the internet. Special guests include Jakub “Quebonafide” Grabowski, Piotr Szumowski, and Wojciech Lach, and sports content creator Kacper “Quesek” Misztal will also be at the stadium.
The event will be hosted by Szymon Marciniak, one of Poland’s most recognizable referees and the referee for the 2022 FIFA World Cup final.
What is the All-Star Game?
The Poland–France All-Star Game is a gathering of soccer legends that combines the excitement of the sport with an opportunity to have fun together and spend time with family. On August 29, at the Municipal Stadium on Piłsudskiego Avenue in Łódź, former players from the Polish and French national teams will face off on the field.
Tickets for this event are now on sale.
The second edition of the event is being held under the slogan: “When international soccer legends pass on sporting values to Polish youth…”. The match will be complemented by a family picnic with an activity zone near the stadium and additional entertainment at Manufaktura.
Łódź Soccer Camp on the stadium's main field
Before the soccer stars take the field, the participants of the Łódź Soccer Camp will have their moment in the spotlight. The top girls’ and boys’ teams in the under-11 division will face off on the main field at the stadium on Piłsudskiego Avenue.
The entire event will be filmed by the production team behind the series “Pierwszy Gwizdek.” As a result, the young players will become part of the show, whose first episode is set to premiere in October on Kanal Zero.
