August 20, 2026 - The Grand Finale of Summer Vacation in Łódź. Events in the city on the last weekend of August

Although summer in Łódź isn’t over yet, the grand finale of the summer break and a flurry of exciting events are just around the corner. From August 28 to 30, the city will be filled with music, sports, literature, games, and movies. Check out what’s in store for the last weekend of August in Łódź.

Freedom Parade

Starting Friday, electronic music will take over downtown Łódź. The Freedom Parade will begin on August 28, with Saturday as its main day, when 14 mobile stages featuring various music genres will appear on Piotrkowska Street. In the evening, the event will move toward EC1. The outdoor portion of the Parade is free.

All-Star Game: Poland vs. France

On Saturday, August 29, Polish and French soccer legends will take the field at the Municipal Stadium on Piłsudskiego Avenue . Among those taking the field will be Zbigniew Boniek, Grzegorz Krychowiak, Łukasz Piszczek, Robert Pirès, Jean-Pierre Papin, and Christian Karembeu. The Łódź Soccer Camp finals will also take place before the match. Tickets for the event are still available on the KupBilet website.

The Witcher's Indian Summer at EC1

Fans of The Witcher should stop by EC1 on August 29. The program for the “Witcher Indian Summer”event includes meet-and-greets with creators, RPGs, board games, Gwent, cosplay, workshops, and exhibitions. There will also be presentations and attractions for fans of fantasy and games.

Polish Handball Super Cup at Atlas Arena

On Saturday, sports excitement also awaits at Atlas Arena, where the best handball teams will face off. At 3:00 p.m., the women’s match between KGHM Zagłębie Lubin and PGE MKS El-Volt Lublin will begin, followed by the men’s match between Industria Kielce and ORLEN Wisła Płock at 7:00 p.m. Throughout the day, fans can enjoy the Super Cup Park —an area featuring handball courts, attractions for children and adults, contests, food and drink, multimedia displays, and the chance to meet Polish handball legends. Tickets for the Super Cup matches are available on the Eventim website.

Book Fest at Manufaktura

On August 29 and 30, Manufaktura will host the first edition of Book Fest. The program includes meetings with authors, discussions about books, and a publishing zone. Guests will include Marek Krajewski, Alek Rogoziński, Maciej Siembieda, and Agnieszka Płoszaj. There will also be plenty of Łódź-specific highlights—the program will feature stories about the city and its industrial past, and the youngest attendees will have the chance to meet Mundek Pazur, the hero of the radio play “Mundek the Cat on the Trail.” Admission to Book Fest is free.

The Manufacturer's Run

On August 29 , participants in the 15th Fabrykant Run will take to the streets of Łódź. The 10-kilometer route will pass through sites associated with the city’s industrial history, including the Central Museum of Textiles and Fuzja. The Grohman Mile charity run will also take place that day.

Movie Night Under the Stars

You can end the weekend with a movie. As part of TME Polówka, screenings are scheduled at locations including Monopolis, Fuzja, Górka Retkinia Północ, Stawy Jana, and Brama Miasta. The movies are shown after dark— around 8:00 p.m.—and admission is free.

The last weekend of August in Łódź will be truly diverse. There will be something for everyone—from fans of sports and music to lovers of books, games, fantasy, and movies under the stars.
