One of Poland’s most recognizable and unique basketball events is returning to Łódź. On June 13, 2026, Atlas Arena will host the next edition of the Gortat Team All-Star Game, in which Marcin Gortat’s all-star team will face off against the NATO Air Force Team.
The history of this event dates back to 2012, when Marcin Gortat—then an active NBA player—organized a charity game at Torwar in Warsaw between a team of celebrities he had invited and the Polish Army team. From the very beginning, the goal was not only to support those in need through the activities of the MG13 Foundation, but also to promote basketball in Poland and build a positive image of uniformed services.
After ten editions and an even head-to-head record (5–5), this year’s event promises to be particularly exciting. For the first time, the Polish Army team will be replaced by the NATO Team Air Force. This change is part of the celebrations marking the 25th anniversary of Poland’s accession to NATO. We will see soldiers from various countries, who are stationed in Poland on a daily basis, on the court.
The event traditionally attracts a wide range of well-known figures from the worlds of sports, culture, and media. In previous editions, the Gortat Team roster has included Kuba Błaszczykowski, Łukasz Fabiański, Piotr Adamczyk, Mamed Khalidov, and Adam Waczyński, among others. Each time, the lineup was rounded out by music stars and well-known influencers. The organizers promise that this year’s team will also be full of famous names!
The Big Game is not just a sporting competition, but also a family and community event. Fans can look forward to an exciting spectacle that brings people from all walks of life together and supports the charitable goals of the MG13 Foundation.
The event is organized by Marcin Gortat’s MG13 Foundation.
