The Municipal Culture and Sports Arena and the Łódź Sports Modeling Foundation invite you to the qualifying rounds for the Polish Championships in remote-controlled model racing.
The second round of the Xray Racing Series Poland RC car races will take place at Atlas Arena on the weekend of December 14–15. The two-day event will also feature qualifying rounds for the Polish RC Car Championships.
Although it may look like playing with electric toy cars, remote-controlled model racing is a discipline that requires careful preparation, a cool head, and skills that are hard to master in just a few days. All the more so because victory depends on the maneuverability, accuracy, and precision of cornering with vehicles that can reach speeds of up to 80 km/h on a straight stretch!
At Atlas Arena, over 150 models will race on a specially prepared Dutch carpet track (covering an area of 600 square meters). The field will include Poland’s top racers as well as “drivers” from abroad.
With the event’s participants in mind, there will be five tracks set up at Atlas Arena: two main tracks—for professionals, where the Xray Racing Series Poland competitions will take place—and three tracks open to everyone who decides to visit Atlas Arena during the event.
On the first two "drivers" will compete in as many as nine categories, including two- and four-wheel drive vehicles. The number of laps covered in five minutes will determine whether they win. This does not mean, however, that only speed will count. Prepared by the Lodz Sports Modeling Foundation, the track will primarily verify the skills of the competing drivers.
Atlas Arena will also offer plenty of attractions for fans and anyone drawn to the venue by the roar of engines, the whoosh of air, and the spirit of healthy competition. Lodz residents will find a driving school track open to everyone, where they can learn the ins and outs of operating a model car, a drift track to hone their skills, and a trial track (focusing on technical and physical skills).
The Xray Racing Series Poland is the perfect event for anyone who already owns RC models or is just looking to get started in the world of model racing. Professional advice will be available on-site from experienced racers.
Admission to the event is free. Enter through the Atlas Arena ticket office and take the stairs down to Gate 1.
