The renovation of the Atlas Arena's facilities is underway
Atlas Arena is undergoing its most extensive renovation of its technical facilities in years. The renovation of the backstage area and the warm-up zone has one goal: to create even better working conditions for producers, technicians, organizers, and artists. This is an investment that audience members in the stands won’t see, but one that could have a real impact on the types of concerts and events that will come to Łódź in the coming years.
What does the renovation of Atlas Arena entail?
Work began in late June and is being carried out simultaneously in 12 backstage rooms that have served artists and their crews for the past 17 years. Among the areas being modernized are dressing rooms and restrooms, where plumbing systems are being replaced, new wall and floor coverings are being installed, and modern fixtures are being put in place.
At the same time, renovation work on the sports warm-up area is underway. The first phase of the project, covering six rooms, will be completed by the end of August, ensuring that the space will be ready for fall sports and cultural events. The entire project is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2026.
Why is the backstage area so important to concert organizers?
Although what happens on stage is what matters most to the audience, the organizers’ choice of venue is increasingly determined by the technical facilities available. Comfortable dressing rooms, functional spaces for production crews, efficient logistics, and modern infrastructure make it easier to pull off even the most demanding events.
That is why the modernization of Atlas Arena is an investment not only in the venue itself, but also in Łódź’s appeal on the map of European concert tours and major sporting events.
What investments have already been completed at Atlas Arena?
The modernization goes far beyond a simple renovation of the backstage area. In July, a new reception area was opened, which streamlines work processes and improves the level of service provided to organizers and partners.
The venue has also gained new facilities for RVs, along with the necessary infrastructure and a modern parking system. Thanks to these changes, Atlas Arena is now even better equipped to host major productions and thousands of event attendees.
How is Atlas Arena preparing for its upcoming events?
For nearly two decades, Atlas Arena has been among the most important sports and entertainment venues in Poland. In recent months, the facility has also been equipped with a modern curtain wall system, which allows the arena to be adapted more quickly to various event formats and streamlines the installation of stage sets, lighting, and technical structures.
Organizers also have access to new mobile grandstands, which allow them to tailor the seating arrangement even better to the nature of a concert, sporting event, or performance.
Despite the ongoing modernization work, Atlas Arena continues to operate without disruption. From January through the end of July 2026, 35 events were held here, attracting over 250,000 attendees. The arena’s fall calendar is already filled with concerts by global stars, sporting events, and shows, and the ongoing investments are intended to bring even more prestigious events to Łódź in the coming years.
