The third edition of the Polish Handball Super Cup has gone down in history. On Saturday, August 29, 2026, Atlas Arena once again became the center of Polish handball. Two fiercely contested matches, a battle that lasted until the very last minutes, a penalty shootout in the women’s final, and fantastic cheering from the stands—there was no shortage of excitement from the first whistle to the last.
PGE MKS El-Volt Lublin Wins the Polish Women's Super Cup
The sporting excitement began at 3:00 p.m. with the match between KGHM Zagłębie Lubin and PGE MKS El-Volt Lublin. The game was extremely close, and it took a penalty shootout to decide who would claim the first trophy of the day.
The players from Lublin kept their cool, and it was PGE MKS El-Volt Lublin that celebrated winning the Polish Women’s Super Cup at Atlas Arena.
ORLEN Wisła Płock Takes Top Spot in Men's Competition
In the evening, Industria Kielce and ORLEN Wisła Płock took to the court. As expected, the matchup between these two top Polish teams was a hard-fought, thrilling contest right down to the final minutes.
In the end, ORLEN Wisła Płock defeated Industria Kielce 27–24 and won the Polish Men’s Super Cup.
And so, at Atlas Arena, we learned the winners of the first two trophies of the new season.
Sports excitement—not just on the court
The Polish Super Cup, however, was more than just the two most important matches of the day. In front of Atlas Arena, Super Cup Park was in full swing—an open-air entertainment area designed for fans and entire families. Attendees could enjoy, among other things, sports challenges, contests, meet-and-greets with handball legends, and a food court.
Throughout the day, the sporting excitement was accompanied by a great atmosphere created by the fans. Loud cheering from the stands at Atlas Arena provided the backdrop for both the women’s competition and the men’s evening match.
