When Atlas Arena opened on June 26, 2009, as Poland’s first modern, multi-purpose sports and entertainment arena of this scale, few could have imagined how quickly it would become a fixture on the global concert circuit. Today, after more than sixteen years of operation, it can be said outright: this is where Łódź audiences encounter the biggest names in contemporary music—without having to travel to other European metropolises. According to data from the Łódź Tourist Organization, Atlas Arena also attracts thousands of tourists to Łódź every year, who get to know the city and its cultural offerings while attending concerts.
The venue’s ambition and scale were evident from its very first years of operation. A-HA took the stage, followed by Depeche Mode and Rammstein—artists whose productions set the standard for stadium and arena shows. In 2011, Atlas Arena hosted a veritable marathon of star-studded concerts: Roger Waters, Shakira, Sade, and Rihanna proved that Łódź is ready for the world’s biggest pop and rock productions.
In the years that followed, the venue consistently attracted legends and artists who defined successive generations of listeners. Elton John introduced the audience to the world of pop classics, Justin Bieber took them right into the heart of the younger generation’s global pop culture, while Deep Purple, Scorpions, and KISS reminded everyone that Atlas Arena’s rock DNA is alive and well. Metal sounds were represented by Slayer and Megadeth, among others, while contemporary alternative acts—such as Twenty One Pilots and Thirty Seconds to Mars—returned to Łódź on subsequent tours.
Continuous growth – we want more!
Recent years have only strengthened the venue’s standing—there have been more and more concerts by megastars. Among those who have performed on the Atlas Arena stage are 50 Cent, Louis Tomlinson, Lenny Kravitz, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Bryan Adams, Melanie Martinez, Andrea Bocelli, Alan Walker, Ghost, Tate McRae, Limp Bizkit, OneRepublic, Flo Rida, The Offspring, and in January 2026—RAYE, one of the most talked-about artists of the younger generation on the British pop scene, who kicked off her major concert tour in Łódź.
Such a wide range of performers—from classic rock icons to global pop and R&B stars, and metal, alternative, and electronic artists—shows that Atlas Arena is a venue open to diverse musical tastes and a multigenerational audience. It’s a place where fans raised on vinyl records and the streaming generation come together. Nothing brings people together like music!
Equally important, the presence of the world’s biggest productions in Łódź is not just a matter of prestige. It represents a real qualitative leap in access to culture for the region’s residents. Attending concerts by Rihanna, Shakira, Elton John, or Justin Bieber didn’t require traveling to other countries—all one had to do was come to the city center. At the same time, each such event attracts thousands of visitors from all over Poland and abroad, who get to know Łódź while attending the concert and take advantage of its hotels, restaurants, and cultural offerings.
“From the very beginning, Atlas Arena was an ambitious project—not only in terms of infrastructure, but above all in terms of programming. Our goal was to elevate Łódź to the top tier of European concert cities. Today, global tours regularly include our venue, and residents have access to top-tier events right here. This is of immense value to the city and its image,”emphasizes Maciej Łaski, CEO of Atlas Arena.
Thanks to its consistent collaboration with major promoters and its professional technical facilities, Atlas Arena has become a natural stop for artists planning European tours. Łódź’s central location, well-developed road and rail infrastructure, and the experience of its organizational team make the venue one of the key concert venues in this part of Europe.
However, a venue’s standing in the concert industry is not determined solely by the list of names, but also by who keeps coming back. Following their concerts in 2015 and 2022, Deep Purple will perform in Łódź again in 2026, as will the Scorpions, who are returning after their 2023 show. In the world of international tours, such decisions are not random—they result from recommendations, production quality, the band’s professionalism, and efficient organization. A good reputation spreads quickly among managers and promoters, having a real impact on future bookings. It is therefore no coincidence that Rihanna performed at Atlas Arena in 2011, and today her husband A$AP Rocky will take the same stage—in this industry, relationships and proven venues matter.
Today, Atlas Arena is more than just a venue—it’s a brand that enhances the city’s cultural and tourist appeal. Every concert adds to the history of a place that has firmly established Łódź on the calendars of the world’s biggest stars.
