Amadeus Live – a screening of Miloš Forman’s film accompanied by live symphonic and choral music
Following the huge success of the Warsaw and Wrocław performances, the blockbuster Amadeus Live returns to Poland.
A special performance Amadeus by Miloš Forman, featuring the Beethoven Academy Orchestra and the Polish Radio Choir – Lusławice under the baton of the distinguished Dutch conductor Ernst van Tiel, will take place in Łódź on January 10, 2027. Tickets to Atlas Arena are already on sale, so you can plan your journey to 18th-century Vienna alongside the genius of the debauched Mozart and Salieri, who was mortally jealous of his talent.
Amadeus is a film-opera, a heavenly celebration of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s music, impressive in its grandeur. A timeless tale of the clash between two composers: the joyful, vulgar genius (Tom Hulce as Mozart) and the haughty, talentless envious man (F. Murray Abraham as Salieri) was honored with Oscars for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Screenplay, Best Art Direction, Best Costume Design, Best Makeup, and Best Sound. Thus, Amadeus became one of the most acclaimed films of the 20th century and cemented Forman’s status as one of the most outstanding European and Hollywood directors.
The evening itself is a tribute to this famous work, which will captivate not only music lovers and classical music enthusiasts, but also all moviegoers who love cinema and want to take part in a unique celebration of a masterpiece that appears on countless lists of the greatest films of all time.
Łódź will thus join the elite group of cities (including London, Tokyo, Toronto, Seoul, and Paris) where this unique spectacle is performed.
