Nearly 100 artists, over a dozen stages in downtown Łódź, and three days of concerts, meetings, and discussions about music. The fifth edition of the Great September Music Showcase & Conference will take place from September 10 to 12. One of the guests at the conference portion of the festival will be Michał Wiśniewski, who, to mark the 30th anniversary of Ich Troje, will meet with the creators of Podcastex.
30 Years of Ich Troje. Michał Wiśniewski on the Band’s Phenomenon
“Keine Grenzen”—no boundaries. This slogan aptly captures both the programmatic philosophy of Great September and the history of Ich Troje—a band that has consistently defied simple categorization for 30 years.
Michał Wiśniewski, lead singer, songwriter, and co-founder of the band, will be the guest of honor at an event in the #GREATstory series. The conversation , titled “Ich Troje’s 30th Anniversary: Nostalgia, but with an Industry Perspective,” will be an opportunity to look at the band’s history not only through the lens of their biggest hits, but also through the changes that have taken place in the Polish music market over the past 30 years.
Mateusz Witkowski and Bartek Przybyszewski, the creators of Podcastex —a popular podcast dedicated to culture, pop culture, and social phenomena at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries—will talk with Michał Wiśniewski about the Ich Troje phenomenon, the story behind the band’s peak popularity, and changes in the industry.
A Conversation About the Future of Concerts in Poland
The conference portion of Great September will also feature representatives from Łódź’s event industry. Maciej Łaski, president of the Municipal Arena of Culture and Sports, will participate in the panel discussion “Concert Residency: Poland, Are You Ready?”, which will explore Poland’s potential as a venue for long-term concert residencies by the world’s top artists.
The panel will take place on September 12 from 2:15 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. at the Pinokio Theater, located at 75/77 Sienkiewicza Street in Łódź.
